More people are aware of the Enneagram than ever before. But in many cases, this powerful system of transformation is reduced to a simple typology without any reference to its rich history and roots, not to mention its original purpose.
This workshop will recognize the ways in which the nine Enneagram types play out in our own personalities. It will combine psychological insight into the inner workings of the Enneagram types with meditation practices and exercises designed for a more direct experience of the qualities of essence, such as presence, clarity, compassion, and joy. Conversational instruction will be combined with group meditations, small-group work, physical movements, and music so that you can fully integrate the richness of the Enneagram material into your daily work and relationships.
One of the continuing questions that people have about the Enneagram is "where did this come from? It works so well, but who thought it up?" People often want to know if it is affiliated with particular religions, if it has a scientific element, and how it came into its present form. The answers to these questions are not simple because the Enneagram is really a modern synthesis of many older, traditional wisdom streams, as well as the work of a number of modern explorers and thinkers. In this session, Russ will draw on his many years of experience, his firsthand connection with many of the key players, and his long study of the Enneagram to provide a sense of the roots of the system.

As you probably know, the Enneagram itself can provide many profound insights, but combined with a more precise understanding of the Instincts, it creates a practical way of applying the knowledge in our lives for more immediate results and more continuing growth and development.

A New Series on the Parental Patterns and Other Developmental Issues for the Nine Points. For our next online program, we are offering a series of three classes focusing on the particular developmental issues and challenges that arise in the nine types. We will delve into the question of “type as temperament” and its shaping by our childhood environment. We see these patterns not as causative of type, but as frequently found patterns that impact adult relationships and self-concepts.
