Fazal’s Personal Transformation: Photos from Pakistan

When we study the Enneagram, particularly through the lens of Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way, we often remind ourselves that The Work is not meant to be a luxury for our spare time. It is meant for life, exactly where we are. It is a living, breathing map of human awakening, meant to be lived in the marketplace, in our families, and in our everyday struggles.

I am deeply humbled by how this living tradition transcends geographic boundaries, language barriers, and cultural divides.

Recently, our dear friend and teacher Fazal Mabood shared some moving photographs with me from an Enneagram class he conducted in Pakistan. In them, a group of men is sitting together on the floor, huddled around simple, handmade paper visuals of the Enneagram symbol.

There are no high-tech projectors or glossy workbooks—just presence, sincerity, and a shared yearning to understand what it means to be truly human.

These men are learning to observe themselves so they can bring presence back to their homes, their workplaces, and their communities. It reminded me so deeply that the essence of the Fourth Way is not about the complexity of the theory, but the sincerity of the practice.

I wanted to share part of a video with Fazal to give you a window into how the Enneagram has taken root and blossomed in his private life in Pakistan. Thank you, Fazal, for taking your work out into the world.

At 49, Fazal is a conscious living practitioner and certified Enneagram teacher. He teaches the Enneagram weekly, despite a grueling 12-16 hour work day in a regular corporate sales position that helps sustain his wife, four children, and extended family.

Fazal transmits his passion for the Enneagram not only to his students, but also to his eldest adult son and daughter, who help him with his burgeoning Enneagram school and creating diagrams for class.

He is working with some schools and organizations to share Enneagram teachings, including some organizations with a female population.

Fazal’s dream is to establish full-time Enneagram school that serves nearby Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries.

If you have an inspiring story to share with my community about how the Enneagram teachings have impacted your life, work, and community, please share it with info@russhudson.com.
